Angels in My Classroom
There are angels in my classroom, dressed up like little kids.
I seldom see the halos, but I find their scuffs and skids.
They've traded in their harps of gold for less celestial noise-
Stomping feet, loud voices, and lots of banging toys.
Coats, jackets, shirts, and sweaters hide each tiny wing.
But I know they're straight from heaven,
When I hear them laugh and sing.
They flit here, there, and everywhere at such a breathless pace,
I guess that's 'cause kid angels come equipped with extra grace.
And while they've never really flown (as far as I can see),
Throughout the day their world defies the laws of gravity.
Angels, right here in my class.
I'm certain that it's true.
Just look at them,
And you'll believe it too!
